Babies and kids are the most challenging subjects to photograph. My style in photographing them is to get them in as natural a state as I possibly could. It is definitely a worthwhile investment to document kids' birthdays with a special portrait shoot. These photos make great gifts to family and friends, and I am sure you will be cherishing them in years to come.
